Alphabet Street  http://www.alphabetstreet.infront.co.uk/ - searchable UK-based site with children's and young adult literature sections.  Book reviews, prices and ordering information available.
Barnes and Noble  http://www.bn.com - search by author or title or browse subjects.  For each title it allows you to look at a quick synopsis, see reviews of the title, has an excerpt from a chapter and lists similar titles.  Has useful category for out-of-print titles.
Blackwell's Online Bookshop  http://bookshop.blackwell.co.uk/ - search the site or browse.  Has category for children's literature and educational titles, young children's and early learning.
Books Online  http://www.bol.com/index.html - new online bookshop with a European focus.  Children's and teenagers section can be searched or browsed.  Good book reviews.
Borders  http://www.borders.com - large searchable children's literature section.  Search by age group, staff favourites, children's books for parents, ideas for educators.  Prices and availability indicated.
Cherry Valley Books  http://www.cherryvalleybooks.com - based in Colorado, the site is dedicated to the promotion and sale of children's and child-related literature.  Only web bookstore devoted solely to children's literature.  Can search by subject or age group as well as author, title etc.   Titles are reviewed.
Good Book Guide  http://www.good-book-guide.com - on-line bookstore, but useful search and browse features.
Heffers  http://www.heffers.co.uk - features include the Bookworm Club detailing a selection of paperback books specially chosen for children up to the age of 13 to encourage a love of reading.  A mixed bag of fiction, non-fiction and poetry with reviews and prices.
Internet Bookshop (part of the WH Smith Group)  http://www.bookshop.co.uk - 1.4 million UK and US titles listed.  No section specifically for children's literature but can search from general search feature.  Jenny "your personal Librarian" will inform you of similar titles, and titles by the same author if the email request form is completed - a useful feature.
John Smith's Bookshop  http://www.johnsmith.co.uk - searchable site.  Useful section on children's multimedia and useful for Scottish links and information.

Waterstones (includes Dillons.co.uk)  http:www.waterstones.co.uk - has section for best children's book of the month in various age groups, with short reviews.
