Fairrosa's Cyber Library of Children's Literature  http://www.users.interport.net/~fairrosa/ -maintained by a NYPL librarian with a passion for children's literature, this is an interesting site to browse with lots of useful links to other children's literature sites.   Good review section divided up thematically - books suggested by readers and sometimes reviewed by them.  Interesting author/illustrator links to their home pages, interviews or official sites.

Reading is Fundamental  http://www.rif.org.uk  emphasis on the fun side of reading: interviews with authors, book reviews, competitions and on-line stories by top authors.
Scottish Book Trust  http://www.webpost.net/bts - administers the Writers in Scotland scheme and maintains and publishes The Writers' Register.   The site lists local authors registered with the scheme with a short biography and bibliography as well as an indication of the age group for which they are writing.
Stories From the Web  http://hosted.ukoln.ac.uk/stories - public library website for children aged eight to eleven.  The site is part of a Libary and Information Commission funded project exploring how public libraries can use the Web to provide reading promotion and development services to children.  The site allows children to read extracts of stories and poems online and then send in reviews, their own stories and enter competitions.
